Prof. Samantaray gets invited for the prestigious 3M Non-Tenure Faculty Award Symposium 2025. While 3M discontinued the awards category in 2023 due to funding challenges, the award symposium is equally prestigious and signifies our research relevance to sustainability and broadly to 3M objectives. Only 3 faculty were selected after a rigorous selection process in the Early-Career Track. We thank the 3M Decatur collaboration for the nomination process!

22 January 2025: Hailey wins the 2025 Kenneth G. Hancock Memorial Award from the Green Chemistry Institute at the American Chemical Society. Only two award winners are selected annually. Congratulations Champ!!
10 December 2024: Its finally official! Prof. Samantaray is selected as an Early Career Research Fellow in the Environmental Protection and Stewardship Track by the National Academy of Sciences Gulf Scholar Program. Thank you, NASEM!

15 Aug 2025: Prof. Samantaray meets Prof. Rigoberto Hernandez at the ACS Fall 2025 one-on-one. Prof. Rigoberto is a President-Elect of the American Chemical Society and an advocate for ACS4Life initiative. His remarks at the YCC meetings were very inspiring.
Hailey and Sloan received their bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering from UAH this Spring! Congrats both!
10 December 2024: Hailey gets selected for the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Award in Chemical Engineering. She will be honored during the Engineering Week 2025.
9 December 2024: Prof. Samantaray is appointed as an Associate to the Committee on Constitution & Bylaws at the American Chemical Society and an Associate to the Committee on Younger Chemists. Thank you, 2025 ACS President Dorothy J. Phillips, for the appointment!
18 Nov 2024: Prof. Samantaray wins the Researcher Development and Travel Grant from the Royal Society of Chemistry.
15 Nov 2024: Prof. Samantaray is elected as the Chair-Elect for the North Alabama Local Section of the American Chemical Society.
27-31 Oct 2024: Prof. Samantaray travels to AIChE 2024 in San Diego. Dr. Tridip Das and Prof. Samantaray co-present their findings on Selenium extraction. Dr. Tridip was awarded a Best Poster award for their joint work. Congratulations, Dr. Tridip. You are a rockstar!

7 Oct 2024: Dr. Chris Thomas, Senior Divisional Scientist at 3M Decatur, visits our lab, and we officially discuss a collaboration for a challenging project. Dr. Chris is an expert in 3M adhesives and films. He has been a friend of Prof. Samantaray. Thank you for your visit, Dr. Chris!
26 Sep 2024: Andrew visits our lab with his colleague from ADS. At ADS, he has mastered polymer characterization techniques like DSC, TGA, and FTIR, and we are excited to see him grow even further. Progress, Godspeed, Andrew!
17 Sep 2024: Hailey starts the lab as a JUMP student. She is one of the first ChemE students pursuing her undergrad in the Biotech track and her Master's in Materials Track at UAH. Welcome to the lab, Hailey. You are an interdisciplinary champ!

6 Aug 2024: The Gulf Scholars Program, National Academy of Sciences, funded a team of diverse faculty members from UAH led by Prof. Azita Amiri as the Director of the funds and Prof. Samantaray as one of the co-PI. Thank you, NASEM!
17-21 July 2024: Prof. Samantaray attends the ACS Postdoc to Faculty Workshop 2024, organized by the American Chemical Society, as a Faculty mentor.

Prof. Samantaray attends the ACS Leadership Institute 2023 as the ACS Leadership Institute awardee. He got the opportunity to meet all the Board of Directors at ACS and meet the current Board Chair, Wayne Jones and past president Mary Caroll.
Prof. Samantaray at the IX Summit of the Americas. He was the only Fulbright Youth Delegate for the summit. The then President and Vice President inaugurated the IX Summit of the Americas.
Prof. Samantaray with Ethan Rosenzweig is currently serving as the Acting Chief of Protocol of the United States. Prof. Samantaray met Ethan at the Fulbright National Conference in Cleveland, Ohio, in 2022. Ethan was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of ECA at the time.
Prof. Samantaray with NASA Astronaut Jessica Watkins. He along with the support from Provost office at Caltech and the Caltech Postdoctoral Association organized a postdoc-only event for Jessica. Jessica is a postdoc alum of Caltech and now officially owns a CPA shirt!
